How To Find Cheap Home Decor You Will Love
Decorating my home is something I love to do! It is actually quite therapeutic for me. But what I love even more is when I do it on the cheap. Buying home décor items doesn’t have to be expensive.
When I was shopping for cheap home decor to stage my house to sell, the first thing I did was check out discount stores such as Ross Dress For Less. I found so many things there that were literally about half the price compared to other stores. You really can score great finds for your home without breaking the bank!
Here are a few simple ways to accomplish this:
1. Shop your local Dollar Stores
You may not believe this but you can find beautiful things at your local Dollar Stores. At Dollar Tree, you can buy things for just $1.
But I have also found many great things at my local Dollar General. I was actually shocked at some of the things I have been able to find. Shopping at Dollar Stores will save you money.
2. Check out Discount Stores
As mentioned in the intro, I was able to score some great deals doing this. One of these finds is this beautiful huge painting from Ross Dress For Less that cost less than $100 hanging in my living room. Compared to $300 at big box stores.
A tip I have is to find out from the store associates when they will get a shipment in and go on those days. Also be sure to get there early so you are able to have first pick and are not stuck with what ever is left over.
3. Just DIY
I was recently watching a show on HGTV and I saw a cool DIY. She made a $400 basket for $30. Yes, that’s pretty awesome. DIY’ing your home décor not only is a money saver but it also lets you get those creative juices flowing. Check out these 17 Cute and Cheap Dollar Tree DIY Farmhouse Decor Ideas.
4. Buy from Thrift Stores
Thrift stores such as Goodwill are full of cheap treasures for your home. Many of the things are brand new and have never been used and you are able to buy it for a fraction of the price.
5. Go to Garage Sales
If you want a true bargain, go to garage sales. Like thrift stores, home décor is sold super cheap. Also, everything is negotiable, so you may end up only spending pennies on the dollar.
6. Repurpose Old Furniture
Instead of throwing that old coffee table away, just repurpose it. Repurposing old furniture will make it look brand new and save you money on purchasing new furniture.
7. Look for Sales
Many times, your favorite home décor stores run sales. I was able to get these amazing lamps at Hobby Lobby that are in my dining room during their 50% off sale on home decor. Be sure to sign up with your favorite store’s email newsletter too so you will be the first to know when there is a sale.
8. Check clearance aisles
You never know what you will find on the clearance aisles. Often stores run 70%, 80% or 90% off clearance sales. So, be sure to ALWAYS check out the clearance aisles first. You never know what you might find.
