Do you need more money to pay your bills? Have you been waiting on a raise from your job? Well why wait on a raise when you can give yourself a raise!
One thing we can agree on is money is required for almost everything in the world we live in. When my family and I were checking in our hotel while on vacation, my 7 year old daughter says, “We have to pay to stay in a hotel mommy?”
My answer was, “Yes baby, hotel stays are not free.”
Kids are so innocent and she honestly thought hotel stays were free. She learned a lesson that day, that us having the money to stay in a hotel was a true blessing.
Although, many people view having a lot of money in a negative light, I believe having money gives you options, and it’s good to have options.
When you have more money, you can have more peace not worrying about not having enough. You can also help a lot of people.
When your needs are met, you can help meet the needs of others. Also, you to do things you enjoy.
Instead of waiting on your job to give you a raise, learn how to have more money each month with these 7 simple tips:
Pay off all your debt
I am a huge Dave Ramsey fan and completely agree with his stance on debt. The bible says the borrower is a slave to the lender. And that is so true.
Don’t believe that, just stop making your mortgage payments, and you shall see how fast you will be put out of your home.
Do you know why that is, because you don’t own it, the mortgage company does.
Instead of all your money going out to payments, you instantly give yourself a raise by keeping more of the money you earn.
In his book, The Total Money Makeover, it goes into great detail about the importance of living a debt free life and having the financial freedom we all crave.
Cancel memberships
Do you have a gym membership or any other membership you barely use? If that is the case cancel that membership today.
This will allow you to have more money on things you actually need. Having unnecessary memberships are a waste of money. You can use this freed up money to your debt or add money to your saving account.
Shop around for cheaper insurance
Many times, you are overpaying for home insurance and/or car insurance. Shop around to see if you can get a better deal. If you find a better deal you may be able to negotiate with your current insurance provider.
Refinance your home
Did you purchase your home at a sky high interest rate? If so, consider refinancing. This one thing can easily free up hundreds of dollars a month.
Live on a budget
Today, make a budget sheet with all your expenses.
Next, export your bank account for the past 30 days and see where your money is going.
You will be shocked to see how much money you are spending on unnecessary things. Once you have recovered from the shock make out a budget and stick to it.
Start couponing
I am always amazed at the amount of money couponers save.
They literally save tons of money on regular household items you buy every month. If you don’t know where to start, there are several sites out there to help beginners such as the krazy coupon lady.
Cut up your credit cards
Stop signing up for 22% interest rate credit cards.
That is just asinine.
You are seriously throwing money away when you do that. Don’t fall for the you save 10% off when you get a credit card to our store.
