What are your morning routines? Does it consist of the alarm going off and you immediately jumping out of bed and running to the shower? Do you roll back over and go to sleep just to wake up late rushing to get out the door?
I know we all have been there.
But have you ever thought about doing something different that can completely change the start of your day?
These 3 simple morning routines will definitely change your perspective on mornings and start your day off on a positive note:
Express gratitude
I have said it before and I will probably say it again, there is power in being grateful.
When you first wake up, think about 5 things you are grateful for. I also highly recommend you speak those things out loud. Words are powerful.
In the Book of Proverbs 18:21 in the Bible, it says “Life and death are in the power of the tongue.”
So remember to speak life over yourself first thing in the morning. This one thing will change your entire morning and mindset. Once you are up and moving around be sure to go and write it all down in a gratitude journal.
Pray
If you are a person of faith, before you even get out of bed, you should pray. Prayer is simply talking to God. Sometimes we wake up with things on our minds that are bothering us. Instead of going about your day that way, pray to God for the answers and listen to his response for the answer.
Monitor your thoughts
When you first wake up, do you have thoughts of dread or thoughts of excitement?
Thoughts of peace or thoughts of worry?
Complaining thoughts or grateful thoughts?
Thoughts produce feelings. Therefore, we aware of the thoughts that are swimming around in your head.
Making sure you start your day off in a positive state of mind will definitely move you in the right direction. You can change your day and life by changing the way you think!
